Recording facilities – Mobile We can offer either 8 or 16 track recording at the premises of your choice! You hire the room, we come and record your performance, live or otherwise. This will save you, the artist, a lot of money, as we will be offering a true value for money service. You could hire a room for say £20 – £25 a day, or it could be where you rehearse, in your house - any where in your local area, and we will come and set up our equipment in that room and record your band - for a lot less than hiring a "proper" studio. You call the shots, you decide what package you want and how many songs you want to record, and in what way. Our preferred method is to record "live", with little or no over-dubbing, as not only does this keep the cost (time) down, but it's also a way of working with less pressure on individual musicians. If any overdubs need to be done, they can be done at the end of the session(s), saving a lot of time sitting about and doing nothing – whilst you are paying for it! If you can play, we can record. Simple as that, and the better you are, the quicker, and cheaper, it'll be. Quality? You will be recording direct to digital tape, so our aim will be to capture as closely as possible how YOU sound, not how the engineer or studio WANTS you to sound. It's not an ego trip for us, it's a service for you. What's the point of going in sounding like The Clash, and going home with a CD that sounds like Queen! Like we say, we want to be able to give you a CD that is a good representation of Your band, so you can send it out to venues and radio stations, or even to sell. Mixing This will be done away from the recording site, purely for logistical and technical reasons. One or 2 members may be able to come and attend the mix, but this will add more to the overall cost, as our mixdown room is pretty small, but pretty well equipped. Other copies can be made on request at £3.50 each. Alternatively, we can also offer an outsourced manufacturing service. You supply the artworkand all the information, and we will put it all together for you to your specifications. Then we find you a great price for either pressed (min. order 500) or copied (short run) CD packages. This will take all the hassle out of "doing it yourself", plus being cost effective for you. There is, of course, an additional charge for this service, but when you think that a design house for some of the CD manufacturers will charge you anything up to £75.00 per hour if your artwork is wrong...we could save you a lot of money in the long run. Prices... These will vary from job to job, as we tailor each job to the client. A solo singer songwriter doesn't need 16 tracks of audio (unless they are writing a musical!), so it will obviously be cheaper in that instance. We think it will be around £100.00 for a days recording, depending on the project, but this figure is not written in stone. Remember – We come to you, so we have transport and tape costs to consider, too. If we have to stay overnight, then there will have to be other negotiations.... Mixdowns, depending on the number of tracks, will be around £40.00 a day. This will increase to £70.00 per day if attended, as it will increase the amount of time it takes to finish the job. The more you trust US, the faster you get the CD YOU want.... Finally If any of this interests you in any way, please do not hesitate to contact us, or our resident sound engineer, Peter James.
