Hey peoples,

I hope you're reading this in good health and high spirits, but if you live in the North of England you will no doubt have already abandoned all hope and these two well wishes will mean little if anything at all........

That said I'd now like to tell you a little about myself, if you'd be so inclined that is.

My name is Jamie and I have a real hard-on for drums, weaponry, polished rocks, the fairer sex and all manners of wicked enlightenment.  Music is paramount to my entire existence and is more than likely to provide my singular purpose.  So in a nut shell, I love music and have nothing but contempt for those who misuse such a power.

With that in mind, here are a few of bands which in class to be of the most important to me:

  • Tool

  • Nirvana

  • Kiss

  • Black Sabbath

  • Faith No More

  • Kate Bush

  • Rage Against the Machine,

  • Marilyn Manson

  • Slipknot

  • Crash Test Dummies

  • Monster Magnet

  • Type O Negative System of a Down

  • Sublime

  • Iron Maiden........

I could go on but you probably get the gist by now.

As I mentioned earlier I do have a hard-on for drumming, and a pulsating hard-on at that.  It's the thing I do best (well you'd hope I'd have some fuckin' idea after 12 years of relentless skin beating wouldn't you?) and simultaneously the thing that does me best, Christ I could go on about it all day, but if you aren't a drummer you'd probably find it as much fun as a point blank 15 hour drum solo whilst receiving a sever basting in a pit full of broken glass.  So I'll nip this little rant in the bud and leave you in peace with my take on Off the Hook.

Sometime in March '06 I got a message to call a guy called Neil from a band called Off the Hook.  Having already heard of the band yet not knowing anything about them I returned the call and was told they were a rock blues band who were in need of a sticks man for a gig that next week which in itself I thought was cool (not cancelling a gig due to a runaway member), so I excitedly accepted, was handed the bands CD 'Live and head On', and a choice selection of covers to sift me into the groove.

A week later in a place called Blennerhasset I got to meet the band at the gig in question............ within ten minutes it felt as if I had known the band for a decade, you see (their musical supremacy aside)........ cool as fuck just doesn't cut it, everyone has professional quality, natural ability, but no head up arse egomania to accompany it, which helps boost the enjoyment level and the general feel of things exponentially.

We proceeded to tear ass into the session utilizing the tine honoured method of nods and winks, which I must admit, I needed so many of, that people in attendance would be forgiven for thinking.........

a)    that I had a twitch, and.....
b)    I fancied intercourse with the whole band........

but, it did the trick, I must have done something right because I'm still playing with these soave mother fuckers, belter!!!

Well that's my intro, I hope to see you on the road sometime soon.  Take it easy peoples!

Jamie
