2006 and onwards

The band was set up originally in 2001 see previous biography for a complete history.

2006 has been quite busy so far and it's the end of May now.........

At the minute we are all preparing ourselves for another trip down the Maryport Blues Trail - details of which are on our Gigs page.  We are looking forward to playing again this year outside the Middle Tap on the Saturday afternoon, and we look forward to seeing you all again soon ........

Well - Bank Holiday Sunday, 29th May 2006 was a brilliant afternoon at the Fletcher Christian, Cockermouth.  The house was packed to the gills..... and all band members would like to thank the Fletcher Christian for a great afternoon, superb atmosphere, good company.......... and rotten hangovers on Monday morning.

Its now October 2006 - long time since anyone has been on this page, but there were many gigs between then and now..... one of the more memorable ones - Maryport Blues........

Friday night was the first at the Kings Arms, but the most memorable of the week-end (purely for the fact it absolutely 'poured' down was the gig 'OUTSIDE' the Middle Tap.  The boys did record this gig live for their next CD (which is currently under construction).......... but if you take a look at the pictures, the crowd persevered the rain and the day didn't turn out too badly.  Last of the week-end was Saturday night at Sylvester's, another great gig, once again take a look at the pictures and see for yourself just how much everyone enjoyed themselves.

August.......... is always a bad month for gigs.......... holidays and things........... but the end of August was a great week-end, Friday night was a great night at the Ski Club, Haverigg.......... where some of us camped and others were jammy enough to get a bunk in one of the chalets.

Then Saturday afternoon.......... what a great day.......... the sun came out......... and the band headlined at the Bower House BFest in Eskdale.  Again take a look at the pictures and see the letter the Bower House sent after the week-end. It turned out to be a great week-end for all.

September was a busy month, playing most week-ends and now with the run-up to Christmas its still very busy......... so there will be more - but probably not for a month or so.........

2007

Once again its been a while since Of f the Hook has visited this page.  We've been extremely busy most week-ends with one goal in mind...... a new PA..... so it's all blurred into one with the run up the Xmas, but thanks to Cully (from the John Paul Jones), Whitehaven, The Wheatsheaf, Egremont, the Fletcher Christian, Cockermouth and many, many more, plus the weddings and private parties we were privileged to gate crash and thanks to them for putting up with us anyway, we succeeded in buying our 4k rig with the 2k fallback.  Which will be up for hire for any interested parties.

Christmas came and went and we worked flat out and don't mean to sound derogatory, but thank f***.......... it was a good excuse to have a few weeks off.  We eased back into the flow though with a couple of private parties.  Good fun at the 40th and at Dave's 21st and we would like to thank you for excellent nights.  We would also like to give a big 'thank you' to 'Dental Plan' - seriously, check them out if you ever get a chance.
